Windmill Day Nursery is a large, purpose built nursery situated by Morrison’s supermarket in Hinckley. The nursery is registered to take 104 children aged from 3 months to 5 years and is open 51 weeks of the year from 7.30am to 6.00pm. We have ample car parking spaces at the front of the nursery.
Inside, we have five bright and spacious rooms. We have three separate rooms for children under two, so we can ensure that we cater for their individual stages of development. Each room is self contained with kitchen areas, bathroom/nappy changing facilities, and has air conditioning. All rooms have age appropriate resources and wooden furniture. Our Foundation Room for our three to five year olds operates on a lower ratio of 1:6 which exceeds Ofsted regulations.
During their time at nursery the children will experience a wide variety of activities including sand and water play, role play, and creative activities where they can use their imagination and have fun learning through play. All children are allocated a Key Person who plans activities to enhance their learning and development. The Key Person also works in partnership with parents to ensure their childs needs are met to the best of our ability.
We have two separate outside play areas for the Under Three’s and Over Three’s where they can explore their surroundings. Children have free flow access into the outdoor area where they can ride bikes, play on the climbing frame on a soft surface, and make dens. We have a large built in sand and bark pit and a climbing wall, there are areas for planting and growing vegetables. During 2010 our garden will be benefiting from further refurbishment to enhance the environment.
We have a dedicated and experienced staff team, some of which are parent’s themselves or long serving staff members. We have 90% of the team who are qualified at Level 2 or above in Childcare and we offer opportunities for staff to further their qualifications though our childcare training company. All our staff have an enhanced CRB and references are obtained before they begin employment with us.
We have a consistent ‘Good’ Ofsted report and a 3 stars award from Environmental Health (which is highest rating for Leicestershire).
We hope you will come along and join us and see for yourself what we have to offer for both yourself and your child.
Three star EHO rating (2009) for food safety and hygiene.
